Spring 2025 Graduation
Application Deadline: Saturday, 1st February 2025
All final-year students who expect to graduate in Spring 2025 must submit their Graduation Application Form through the SIMAD SIS Portal before the deadline.Degree Conferral Date: Week of 19th May 2025
Degrees will be officially conferred after the university has verified that all academic and financial requirements are fulfilled.Diploma Name Deadline: 1st May 2025
Students may update the name that will appear on their diploma (Credential Name) via the SIMAD IAM Portal. Names must match government-issued ID unless a formal name change is submitted.Diploma Address Deadline: 1st May 2025
Diplomas will be mailed to the address listed under Diploma Address in SIS. Please ensure your mailing address is accurate and complete.Diploma Issuance:
Diplomas will be ordered and mailed after degree conferral. Delivery typically takes 6 to 8 weeks for local addresses. For international delivery, more time may be required.
Electronic Diplomas (CeDiplomas) will be made available before physical copies are dispatched.
Summer 2025 Graduation
Application Deadline: Tuesday, 1st July 2025
Students completing their studies in the summer must apply for graduation via the SIS Portal before this date.Degree Conferral Date: Week of 11th August 2025
Diploma Name Deadline: 1st August 2025
Diploma Address Deadline: 1st August 2025
Diploma Issuance:
Diplomas and CeDiplomas will follow the same issuance process and estimated delivery time as in Spring.
Diploma Details
Diploma Size: 17 inches x 22 inches
Diploma Content: Includes graduate’s name, degree title, faculty, and conferral date.
Double Majors:
Students with double majors will receive one diploma only, but both majors will appear on the academic transcript.Framing Note:
Do not use heat-based framing methods as they can damage the diploma paper.Ribbons:
SIMAD University no longer includes decorative ribbons with diplomas. However, if desired, students may request one (limited supply available). Send a self-addressed return envelope to:Office of the Registrar

Replacement or Duplicate Diplomas
Eligibility:
If your diploma is lost, damaged, or destroyed, you may request a Replacement Diploma. If proof of damage or loss is not provided, the word “Replacement” or “Copy” will appear below the seal.How to Request:
Fill out the Diploma Replacement Request Form from the Registrar’s Office or download it via the university website.Processing Time:
Orders are processed monthly, typically around the 15th of each month. Allow 10–15 business days for production and additional time for delivery.Format:
Reprinted diplomas will bear the current university branding and signatures of the President, Dean, and Registrar.Note: For certificate programs, contact your faculty registrar directly.
Diploma Certification & International Use
Certified Copies:
To obtain a certified copy, bring or mail a photocopy of your original diploma to the Registrar’s Office. It will be stamped and notarized as a true copy.CeDiplomas (Certified Electronic Diplomas):
Available for all SIMAD University graduates since May 2016. These digital diplomas are official, secure, and easily shareable with employers and institutions.Apostille & International Authentication:
For use in countries that require international authentication, contact the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Note: CeDiplomas are digitally verifiable and do not require Apostille.
